Do You Have a Complaint Against Your Cable Company?
For those of you who subscribed to Insight Cable for television and/or Internet access, you are probably aware that you have been switched over to Comcast. The Town of Fishers has provided the following information if you have had problems during the transition:
“In 2006, the Indiana General Assembly passed legislation that allowed cable companies to fall under state-wide franchise agreement starting in 2007.
In the past, the Town of Fishers operated a local franchise agreement with Insight cable company which regulated certain operations withing the town’s corporate limits. Due to the legislation, the Town of Fishers no longer has regulatory authority over cable providers.
Many residents have contacted us with complaints regarding fees or services from their cable company. While the Town no longer has authority to regulate, there are several other courses of action residents can take for relief of grievances.
One option available to consumers is to explore alternatives to their current service such as switching to satellite services or researching other companies that offer similar services.
If that’s not an attractive option, a second alternative is to file a complaint with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) at 317-232-2701 or via their website.”
