The Sand Creek Woods Garage Sale for 2012 will be Friday May 18 & Saturday May 19, 8:00am to 3:00pm each day. We are doing this in conjunction with Spyglass Fall’s annual garage sale. The HOA will be placing an ad and providing signage at the entrances.

Participation is optional. Please contact Eva if you have any questions regarding the sale or have special items* for sale. Signs will be posted at entrances and select intersections.

The Town of Fishers Street Division staff have been working in a effort to shave down 1″ to 1.5″ “toe kicks” or raised/sunken sidewalk panels to prevent trips and falls In neighborhoods as time allows.

Even though sidewalk problems are the responsibility of the adjacent homeowner we have found that shaving down “toe kicks” with Town equipment has saved residents from the added expense of a full sidewalk replacement. In some cases the shaving of the sidewalk edge is unsightly, but this work does not hurt the structural integrity of the sidewalk.

Pond Fountains Installed

Neighborhood Crime Watch Alert

With the price of copper increasing, we are starting to see cases of theft like we did when copper was real high a couple years ago. Someone destroyed 5 air conditioning units located on the rooftops of businesses along Allisonville Road over the weekend to steal the copper from within them. The repair cost is estimated to be approximately $21,000.

Please help us keep an eye out for suspicious vehicles parked around our businesses (especially after hours). Call Dispatch immediately (773-1282) if you see something or someone that seems out-of-place.

Dues Deadline for 2012 Now Past

2012 Homeowners Association Dues were due by Wednesday, February 29th. If you have not mailed your check or contacted the HOA Board about a short extension or payment arrangements, then your account will be considered overdue and subject to a $75 late fee.

Updated statements reflecting any late fees will be mailed to outstanding accounts by the end of March. Following that, further action deemed necessary by the Board will be taken.

SCW North Entrance Lights Being Repaired

The HOA is taking advantage of the mild winter to accelerate the plan for fixing the landscape lighting that has been out along the north entrance to the neighborhood (by 121st Street). These lights should be back in service this week and we hope it will greatly benefit both the night time appearance and safety of the subdivision.

In addition, a street lamp along Cedar Dr. is being repaired this week.

Allisonville and 96th Street Improvements to Begin First Week of April

Two Lanes to Remain Open at All Times until November 2012 Completion

FISHERS, Ind. (Feb. 27) - The Town of Fishers announced today details of the Allisonville Road and 96^th Street road improvement project in Fishers. Improvements to the intersection will begin the first week of April and end in late November of 2012 with all lanes open to traffic and final landscaping by May 2013. Two through lanes and one left turn lane will remain open in each direction for the duration of the project.

“After several public meetings, we have taken the public’s input and planned this major intersection improvement in a way that will minimize disruption and significantly improve traffic along Allisonville Road at 96^th Street,” said Fishers Town Council Member David George. “We are fully confident that upon completion, drivers will see a reduction in their drive time and neighbors of this busy intersection will see an improvement in traffic.”

The intersection will include a Fishers U-turn, commonly referred to as a median u-turn or Michigan Left along both Allisonville Road and 96thStreet. Drivers going through the Fishers U-turn, will not be able to make a left turn at the intersection, but instead must turn right, then make a U-turn at a median crossover. (Simulation available)

This solution for high-traffic intersections such as 96^th Street and Allisonville Road eliminates the hourglass effect while minimizing the time spent stopped at all signals. The new intersection will reduce overall delay and provides the best traffic flow, lowest construction cost and least property impact for neighbors and business owners.

Tree clearing, utility relocation, and preparations have already begun in the vicinity while three meetings have been held with neighbors and business owners in the area. Fishers staff and subcontractors will break ground on April 1, weather permitting. Drivers are advised to follow all signage posted in the vicinity and to pay close attention to updates on www.fishers.in.us

Trash Pickup is Now on Tuesday

Trash and recycling pickup now occurs every TUESDAY during the week. Place your trash and recycling containers curbside no earlier than 6pm the evening prior to pick up. When there is a holiday, a special pick up schedule will take effect. This information will be available on our website, and is typically moved forward by 1 day. Therefore, pickup will occur on the Wednesday of the week when there is a holiday and will resume normal scheduled pickup thereafter.

Remove your garbage and recycling container the day of pickup. Permanently housing your garbage can outside AND in front of your garage is unsightly and unacceptable. Containers should remain inside your garage, until the following week’s scheduled pickup. Thank you!
